What happens in Denver?
Action Figures is an interview/discussion series hosted by Katie Taft at Working With Artists/ the Colorado Photographic Arts Center on the Second Tuesday of the month at 7 pm. WWA is located at 445 South Saulsbury Street in Belmar.
The series is a new and improved version of the Self Made lecture series held at Double Daughter’s from 2005 to 2007. Each month a (usually) local person is invited to come and talk about what their experiences have been living and working in the “Art World.” We discuss their lives, their work and how and whatever it is that keeps them creating.
Past speakers have included visual artists of all kinds, curators, gallery owners, arts administrators, musicians, and one fantastic choreographer, and in the future could include just about anything else.

True Love… is the Devil’s Plaything
I’ve added work from my last show, True Love to the site.
This work showed at Sliding Door Gallery May 2009 with Kay Tuttle.
Dialog City
I just got back from the training to be a docent for some of the Dialog City events and I am very excited about participating. Dialog City is the umbrella name for participatory arts events happening all over town during the DNC. I will be helping at O a vocal performance put together by Ann Hamilton on Monday August 25th at Denver Center for Performing Arts, The Veteran Vehicle Project by Krzysztof Wodiczko in conjunction with homeless veterans.
AND I will be front and center for the Terra Nova: the Antarctica Suite by DJ Spooky at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House on Sunday the 24th.
I can’t believe all of the amazing events happening that week, who knew Art Heaven could be in Denver? If only for a week…
